We have successfully completed the Post-Disaster Teacher Support Program, with the goal of ensuring that educators in the earthquake-stricken regions organize their learning environments in a way that supports the well-being of children and maintains quality education.

Emphasizing the importance of supporting educators working in the provinces affected by the earthquake, the face-to-face event which continued over five days helped educators in adapting to professional development and change with the hope to meet their emotional and professional needs.

Prof. Güray Erkol, the CEO of the Health and Education Foundation, confirmed this with his speech: “We know that the nature of the needs change over time following major disasters. As SEV, we are committed to fulfill our part in ensuring that quality education continues in the region. This training, which is the first step of the program, brought together 93 committed educators and our hope is to reach many more. If the teacher feels good, the student also feels good. If the teachers and the student are good then this will be reflected on the rest of the classroom environment, the school, society, country, and the world. We will continue to stand by our teachers for a better life and world for all.”

At SEV, we are planning to undertake more projects with the funds contributed by Turkish Philanthropy Funds (TPF) for the Post-Disaster Teacher Support Program which was generated by the SEV Disaster Relief Fund.

In addition to corporate bodies including Teknosa, Pegasus, Hayat Su, Yapı Kredi Kültür Yayınları which provided product and services, the program was supported by individual donors as well.
