Canan Özsoy (UAA’80)

Canan Özsoy received her undergraduate degree and doctoral degree from Istanbul University’s Faculty of Dentistry. She worked as a dentist until the end of 1989. She received her Master of Business Administration degree from Boğaziçi University in 1993 and Master’s Degree in Energy Technologies from Sabancı University in 2015.

After working as sales and marketing manager in different areas of the pharmaceutical industry between 1989 and 2004, she moved to Paris for a leadership position at GE Global Marketing. In 2007, Özsoy joined GE Healthcare with her role as Vice President for Europe, Asia, Middle East, Africa and China in global regional marketing and in 2009, she moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to join the Global Leadership team as Marketing Director of Healthcare Systems.

Specializing in development, strategy and marketing of new products, Özsoy assumed the role of General Manager of GE Healthcare Mammography Product Group, based in Paris, in 2011. Between 2012 and 2022, she worked as the Chair of the Board and General Manager of GE Turkey, responsible for the growth of GE in Turkey. Canan Özsoy is also the Deputy Chair of the Board of Directors at TUSAŞ Motor Sanayii A.Ş. (TEI) and METCAP group KOMET, while being a board member at International Investors Association (YASED), AmCham (ABFT) and the Women Corporate Directors (WCD).
