The Çekmeköy Campus of SEV Schools was awarded the LEED PLATINUM Certificatesponsored by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), which is given to environmentallyfriendly buildings.
The criteria for “LEED green building” certification systems are maximization of the healthand efficiency for building users, a reduced reliance on natural resources, a reduced amountof waste and negative environmental impacts, and reduced life-cycle expenses. Thecertification process covers the design, construction and operation of the buildingsconcerned.
From the early stages of its construction project, SEV Schools Çekmeköy Campus embracedthe standards of the LEED System which are called “LEED v.4 Building Design andConstruction for Schools”, an environmentally friendly building certification system developedby the U.S. Green Building Council in 1998.
LEED-certified buildings help make the world more sustainable through design, constructionand operating practices that ameliorate both the environment and human health. Greenbuildings allow organizations to operate more sustainably and to provide a healthier andmore comfortable workspace for its residents.
Our Çekmeköy Campus qualified for the LEED Certificate with the implementation ofpractical and measurable strategies and solutions towards sustainable site development,water conservation, energy efficiency, selection of materials, and indoor environmentalquality. The certificate is the official recognition of the sustainable and environmentalistapproach adopted by Çekmeköy Campus.
